What the mockup gets right
The feed shows a 4:5 portrait crop, your first 125 characters and then "more". Line breaks survive only if the line is not empty. Comments show the first two, and the like count depends on whether you have hidden it.
The card follows the current Instagram layout: spacing, icon set, where the verified badge sits, how the text folds and how reactions are counted. Dark mode uses Instagram's actual dark palette.
How to make one
- Type the name and the post text.
- Set likes, comments and shares and a time stamp.
- Add an avatar and an image if you want them.
- Choose light or dark, mobile or desktop, then click Download PNG.
Using fake posts responsibly
Fake posts are a staple of memes, explainers and "what not to post" training slides. They are also a tool for misinformation, which is why this generator adds a visible "Mockup" label by default and why platforms suspend accounts that pass off fabricated screenshots as real. Use real names only with permission, and never present a mockup as a genuine post.

Can I download the mockup?
Yes. Click "Download PNG" and you get a 2× resolution image of the card. Safari blocks this kind of export; take a screenshot there instead.
Are my images uploaded?
No. The avatar and post image are read by your browser and never leave your device.
Does it support dark mode and desktop layouts?
Both. Toggle them in the toolbar; the download matches what you see.
Is it legal to make a fake tweet?
Making a mockup is legal. Presenting it as a real post by a real person can be defamation or fraud depending on where you live. Keep the label on unless it is clearly a joke.
